Halloween is just a few days away, and you're not prepared at all? No worries! We've got a handy guide to everything you need to have a brooding, angst-ridden, and extra sparkly Halloween, from Twilight-inspired costumes to your very own Edward Cullen jack o' lantern.

THE COSTUME: With so many characters to choose from, you can really dress up as any of Twilight and New Moon's humans and vampires. (If you have enough Twihard pals, why not do a whole group costume?) Some characters and scenes have specific costumes (i.e. Edward's grey pea coat or the Cullen family baseball scene), but Bella wears a handful of outfits that range from easy to pull off (her usual jeans and layers) to way harder (Bella's blue prom dress). Here are a few unique costume ideas to try:

Bella at the Prom (Twilight): You'll need a blue party dress and a white vintage sweater. Throw on a Converse on one foot and a leg brace on the other. You're on your own finding the perfect suit-wearing Edward Cullen to be your date to the prom.

Birthday Party Bella (New Moon): The film hasn't come out, but we all know how New Moon begins: with a birthday party for Bella that doesn't end well. To get the look, wear a pair of Converse (the slip-on low top Skimmers), a green party dress, and a black sweater. Apply fake blood on your finger and on your arm, and look panicked because Edward Cullen is about to break up with you. (Hot Topic sells a replica of Bella's green birthday party dress here.)

Vampire Baseball Cullens (Twilight): Gather your friends and get an assortment of baseball outfits – two-toned long-sleeved jerseys, white baseball pants, knee socks, and caps – and apply vampiric make-up (see below).

Volturi Jane (New Moon): The Volturi are eccentric dressers; they're either old-school baroque or in Italian suits, and Aro's got a weird Euro-sleaze thing going on. They all wear black, but the Volturi who stands out the most is little, lethal Jane (Dakota Fanning). Think sinister Little Red Riding Hood: black velvet cape, blond hair in a bun, a black dress, tights, and Mary Janes. The make-up is key; do way smoky eyes and, if you can, blood-red contacts. Top it off with a sinister smile.

THE MAKE-UP: Getting just the right undead-gorgeous look can be tricky; even the filmmakers had a tough time making Edward and the Cullens look like sparkling alabaster and not like clowns in theatrical make-up. (Hopefully Chris Weitz has fixed that glitch in New Moon.) So how can you achieve just the right level of vampire-pale without looking, well, like a ghoul?

The folks at Twilight Poison have put together a practical guide to getting that Twilight skin sheen just right. (Hint: don't go for straight white foundation – use your natural skin tone as a guide, and go one or two shades lighter.) Add a layer of shimmer and color contacts (golden brown for veggie vamps; red or black for blood-drinkers) and you're set. Get more make-up tips here.

THE PUMPKINS: No Halloween would be complete without jack o' lanterns – and no Twilighter's Halloween would be complete without at least one Edward Cullen sitting on the porch. Unless you're an expert carver, follow one of the many pumpkin patterns available on the web. Trust us, after a few hours of scooping and scraping, you'll want a perfect-looking masterpiece to display proudly.

Hunky Edward Cullen: Here's a particularly brooding Edward to carve; he stares directly into your eyes, mouth pursed in determination.

Twilight Poster: This pattern is sort of angular but you get the picture – Bella and Edward in a clinch, from the Twilight poster.

Bella and Edward Patterns: I'm a big fan of the patterns at Zombie Pumpkins, who now offer separate Bella and Edward character designs. This is probably the best Bella pattern out there.

Team (Pumpkin) Jacob: Since New Moon's all about Jacob challenging Edward for Bella's heart, here's a New Moon Jacob stencil – note the newly shorn hair, meaning this Jacob is a full-fledged werewolf, and therefore hotter than awkward, long-haired Jacob.
