The Ass End of Nowhere, My First Night on the Set of 'Halloween 2'

I landed in Atlanta and jumped in my rental car and headed to a remote location to visit the shoot for Halloween 2. All I can say is, GPS RULES!  Without it, I would still be driving lost in the backwoods of Georgia.

Anyway, I made it.

It was a night shoot and the rain clouds were moving in. The mud on the ground was six inches thick from a week of wet weather. As I approached the location I could hear screams of horror in the distance. Scout Taylor Compton was running for her life covered in blood through the wilderness.

The crew stood by, cold and wet. No one looked like they had slept in days. I had only been there a few minutes but I could tell right way that this was a tough shoot.

No glamour. Just mud and blood.

I found Rob. His spirits were high. He tells me that the film is going to be great. That he is getting performances above and beyond anything in his previous films. Though, he too looks like he has gone the distance with this movie and at this point it's not clear who is ahead on points, Rob or the unforgiving Georgia weather.

The crew begins to set for a new angle when a huge flash of lightning illuminates the sky. Thunder follows and then rain. Heavy rain. We all huddle under a small tent to see if we can wait it out. No luck. It gets worse. More waiting. Someone on the crew jokes that the storm cloud hanging above us has manifested into the shape of Michael Myers' mask. Everyone laughs but as we look up we see that it is true.

It is time to call it a night.
