Like you, we’re counting down the minutes until we can sink our teeth into the second season of True Blood. But for those who are chomping at the bit for more Bon Temps vamps right now, we’ve put together a list of the craziest, goriest and truly bloodiest moments from last season. Come…join us, for a macabre march down memory lane.
Jason Is a Fiend for Fangbangers
Oh the humanity! There is no escaping it. From the first episode of True Blood, Sookie’s brother Jason is naked and he’s humping something about ninety percent of the time. Jason’s “romantic interlude” with fangbanger Maudette Pickens was seriously graphic, but was nothing in comparison to the naked vampire sex tape. The bald-headed Slipknot-loving vamp was enough to give us nightmares for weeks – or was it just his frightening tribal tattoo?
Gran’s Feline Fan Frenzy
Killing off a major character in the first few episodes of the show is serious, no doubt. And a grandma? Well that’s just heartless. But then going after Gran’s furry feline friend, and hanging it from the ceiling fan so that it splattered blood all over Sookie, Billl and the house when Sookie turned on the light? Well, that’s just catty.
Fangtasia is a Blast from the Past
A vampire nightclub! What could be cooler? How about a vampire bartender puking blood all over Sookie’s pristine white dress after Bill impales him with a tap to the back? It was like he was pouring himself a pint of Bloodweiser. Yeah, that was pretty cool too.
Amy Strings Jason and Eddie Along
There’s not much to miss about Jason’s V-loving, former girlfriend Amy - especially her rash decision making (and her hippie tendencies). Just when Jason seemed to be getting his act together and we thought he and the kidnapped vampire Eddie might be making a break for it, Amy came along and drove a stake between the two. Literally. In the midst of the geyser-like eruption coming from Eddie’s chest, we learn that vampire innards are sticky, and stringy. We also learn that Amy has a heart of stone.
Sookie is Not Digging Rene
Vampire Bill is always hot, but in the season finale he is truly smoking when he gets burnt to a crisp by the sun while trying to defend Sookie against Bon Temps homespun serial killer, Rene. (Was it having a girl’s name that made him so angry?) But Sookie is a gal who can fend for herself and she sure knows how to swing a shovel. One good wack and Rene loses his head forever.
Sookie Is Once Bitten and Not Shy
There was a collective gasp heard round the world when Anna Paquin fans saw this episode. Any ounce of innocence was shed when an inconsolable Sookie took her top off and asked Bill to bite her. This was a far cry from Anna Paquin’s character in Jane Eyre… although her nightgown might be the same. After that scene, doing it in the graveyard seems like no big deal.
What do you think? Did we get it right? Or did we miss some viciously vampy moments?
