i love all types of metal but not death and black so i would go with some good thrash bands like slayer of course pantera exholder manicipal waste brutal truth eye hate god arch evemy walls of jerico murder dolls and the red chord
here i go showing my age again, I do like alot of "heavy metal" music, not death metal like Gwar, but i am a huge fan of Judas Priests and Rob Halford is one of the best singers ever. so my list goes as folloiws....
JUDAS PRIESTS
DIO
IRON MAIDEN
NAZARETH
QUEENSRYCHE
BLACK SABBATH
MOTORHEAD
and in my day LED ZEPPLIN AND DEEP PURPLE were classified as heavy metal too.
I am into the classics and NO SUCKTALLICA please!!!
You're asking for our crazy manical opinions, are you out of your mind?! LOL
1. Powerman 5000, not only do they sing metal but they can adapt to any genre and any style that appeals to them! Plus; the lead singer has random and erratic dance moves, it's not any fun unless you're guaranteed a punch in the nose and a kick in the shin!
2. Godsmack, although they seem to have been influenced by Metallica
3. AFI
4. Bullet For My Valentine
5. Linkin Park
6. Ramones (Yeah, they're technically not heavy metal but they nevertheless, they still rock!)
7. Nirvana
Most of these can be classifed as "Punk" or plain old "Rock n' Roll" but I could not resist posting on this awesome discussion.
Even though I saw Arch Enemy (melodic death metal), Cradle of Filth (old stuff is VERY black metal) and Brutal Truth (grindcore, death metal's hyperactive cousin) listed, okay, let's see what I can do with these restrictions.
Strapping Young Lad - Extreme industrial insanity
Opeth - Yes, there's some death metal in there, but it is SO much more than that. This is just music, no genres can contain it.
Moonspell - If Count Dracula were to make a metal band, this would be it. Savage, elegant, a bit romantic, the darkness caresses you.
Stream of Passion - Female fronted melodic metal featuring the vocals of Marcela Bovio, hands down the most beautiful voice I've ever heard. And yes, I've heard a lot of beautiful lady voices, she's still my pick, so there!
Nightwish - Finland's biggest band! Fantasy fueled operatic metal. I miss Tarja, but they're an awesome band.
Dethklok - Okay, I cheated and added a death metal band, but how can you not include a band that's the 11th biggest world economy on the list??
Nightwish Megadeth Black Label Society WASP Testament Savatage Rob Zombie/White Zombie Anthrax Manowar Dio Warlock/Doro Pesch Disturbed Pantera Alice Cooper
Priest, Sabbath , Dio , Ozzy, Maiden, Deep Purple, Rainbow, Metallica, Crue, Dokken, Def Lepard, Early stuff is awesome, whitesnake,Megadeath, king Diamond, Slayer, seeya
