What movie scared you as a child?

I remember going to see SLEEPING BEAUTY as a child. When we got home that night, I was afraid that the evil queen was on top of our house as my dad pulled into the driveway. That movie really got to me!

Anyone else with memories to share?

The three scariest movies that I have ever seen, are as follows:

  1. A Nightmare on Elm Street. 1984
  2. The Evil Dead 1981
  3. Stephen King's IT 1990

Right on Doc.  The Wizard Of Oz flying monkeys scared the hell out of me as a kid!  Awesome!  Was hooked on horror ever since!!  Love it!

Night of the Living Dead scared the heck out of me.  Was my first date movie.  But as a child, I'd say The Industructible Man with Lon Chaney, Jr.  Only b-horror movie that brought me to tears...and my all-time horror movie as a child (and it's still spooky today) is The House on Haunted Hills.

Cats eye. Mostly due to that lil troll... We had a lot of cats & had heard of the breath stealing myth. I didn't scare easy, but something about that flick got to me. I was big into the Jason movies & Nightmare. Nothing. I thought the Exorcist was funny ( obvious I've grow & appreciate the classics ) Couldn't tell you my age a the time... I only remember it being on HBO. Guess 7-9: Damn troll still hits a nerve. Peace

As a kid, I took in a lot of horror films, and certain details would scare the piss out of me. Goofy as it was, "Killer Klowns From Outer Space" made me afraid of laundry hampers, "The Exorcist" made me afraid of beds, and even though this wasn't a horror film, "Look Who's Talking Too" made me afraid of toilets.

A Nightmare On Elm Street, to make matters worse my cousin used to hide in the dark and sing the jump rope song to freak me out when we were little.

I realize this will sound silly but... Jaws. I was never afraid of any movie, but that stupid, busted ass shark that never worked made me afraid to venture into big blue for awhile, lmao.

The movie that absolutely scared me to my core is MAGIC. I can't stand  ventriloquist dummies to this day. They make my heart race. The other movie is JAWS. I grew up swimming in Lake Huron with fish bigger than I am, so needless to say after I saw the movie Jaws I stayed out of the water. If I can't see the bottom I won't go in.

For me...the one that spooked me as a kid was 'The Exorcist' and it kinda still does.
