Favortie Silent Horror Film

    i do love Nasferato, Phantom of the opera, Dr. Calagari, but i also think the silent thrillers, most should be considered as horror. The Mad Scientist 1925 with Lon Chaney,  mad scientist who works in a lunatic assylum and kidnaps strangers to use in his horrible experiments to bring the dead back to life, you might find this one very enjoyable. It's got another fine Lon Chaney performance and a lovely damsel in distress as well. It's dated, stiff and overly familiar but hey, it was pretty new and exciting stuff back then. i can just go on and on with the silent thrillers.   just love the silent ones.

@hellfighter...i agree with you 100%  Robert Wiene, would turn in his grave if he could see todays horror. i also think most of lon chaneys movies fit under the category of horror verses thiller. although most of his great are lost in film, we still have the books. the definition of horror, thriller certainly has changed.
