Having so many generations to choose from, it is nearly impossible to turn out just one favorite or scariest movie. You also have so many different genres. There are independent, "B" movies, serial killer flicks, psychological thrillers and that is just to name a few. Evil Dead is definitely scary, however if you have never seen the little heard of movie "Demon Wind" you have to check it out. I scared myself nearly into wet pants when I watched this by myself in the dark one night. It isn't the great cinematography, even the "Z" list actors it boasts. It is the simple concept, and the scarier than ever minor key church hymn it starts out with. I will never be able to hear "Washed in the Blood of the Lamb" again without getting the chills.

The best horror film in the past 7 years has to be "House of 1000 Corpses". Rob Zombie did us all a favor by creating a film that had that classic "B" horror movie feel. Nothing about the movie sucked. "Saw" would have been my pic had they brought the story to an end, but they over did it, and it got predictable and boring. I'm thinking , and, yep "House of 1000 Corpses" I gotta give kuddo's to anyone who likes killing people in bunny costumes.

I would have to say Ringu the original version. Coming in a close second and third is 28 Days Later and The Orphanage. .

Yall went over the 7 year limit with a lot of your answers.

My favorite of the past 7 years would have to be the first Saw. I love the sequels too, but they almost ruined it when they pretty much brought Jigsaw back to life for the 2nd one. It was a bit far fetched.

House Of 1,000 Corpses sucked! How was that scary? Zombie did better later with Devil's Rejects. Ten times better.

Devil's Rejects, Texas Chainsaw Massacre The Beginning but overall

ALL THE SAW MOVIES RULE! Best horror ever!

I love the Rob Zombie movies, I really don't know what it is about them maybe because they are different from what is coming out today. He dosen't only have gore but he tries to have an actual original story.Out of the ones he made I think The Devil Rejects might be my favorite.

I liked Saw, but the first one was the only one I did enjoy.

I would say Rob Zombie has a way of twisting reality, in a way that makes you say, Hey this could happen. Alice Cooper once said that " someone who can write a song about the Munsters car (Dragula) and make it sound awesome is ok in my book". I would have to agree. I look forward to more of Zombie's movie's. HOTC, and Devils Rejects were awesome. I have seen Zombie perform many times live and I must say it is a unique experience every time. Keep'em coming.

Rob Zombie's remake of Halloween. He reinvented Michael Myers character.
