This one is a shocker (no pun intended). Sort of a cross between Taxi Driver and Eraserhead, but even creepier than that description sounds. It's about a Vietnam vet who comes back to Staten Island after fighting, only to discover that life in the streets is even tougher than 'Nam. It's a rough movie, no doubt, both in story and production terms. The acting is sometimes pretty terrible, but the general atmosphere of the movie sells it. The director of Henry Portrait of a Serial Killer said it's the type of movie that "makes you want to slit your wrists." I think that was meant as a compliment though. Check it out.
