I also like Metallica but I prefer the Jason Newstead version over this guy they have now. I am waiting for them to get back to some good stuff again. The last two albums really did not do anything for me. Believe it or not, I finally heard Porn Star Dancing and was absolutely blown away. It was like a breath of fresh air again. That brought back some of the memories of what some good pounding rock and roll was like. \m/ \m/

Maiden, Slayer (ANYTHING BEFORE REIGN IN BLOOD), Megadeth, Black Sabbath (with Dio or Ozzy, I don't care I love Sabbath), Dio <3, Led Zeppelin, Motorhead.. most have already been said but I feel like there is a fine line between hair metal and true heavy metal. I like both.
I'm sad this isn't a black metal topic because I could go all day with my Pentagram and Mayhem. Boo.
