DOES EVERYONE REMEBER THEIR FIRST CONCERT ?

Anonymous's picture

Hey everyone-   I have been to many concerts over the years, but I still remember my first concert like it were yesterday-   It was at Shea Stadium in Queens, NY ( that stadium no longer exists by the way )  and the the group was  THE WHO.   What an awesome fookin concert- had the best time.  It was in 1982 and I was  young whipper snapper-  only 15 yrs old.  We were in the next to last row up in the nose bleed seats- but they had a big screen that you could watch.  There was an electricity in the air and the crowd was stomping there feet-  I remember the roar of that sound of feet stomping.  I dont remember every concert that well-  but this one will always be ingrained in my memory

We couldn't get tickets to see the Beatles 'cause they were sold out. So, my first concert was The Dave Clark 5. This was durring the British Invasion. I was about 12 or 13. Don't really remember much about it. I wasn't that big of fan. Only went because my girl-friend talked me into it, we really wanted to see the Beatles. Was not a very memerable experience.

AU CONTRAIRE ZBG. . . . . . the title of this discussion is

DOES EVERYONE REMEBER THEIR FIRST CONCERT ?

THEN you started to reminisce about some concert or other BUT. . . . . . you DID NOT SPECIFY that it was ONE YOU WENT TO. . . . . . . maybe you misunderstood YOURSELF. . . . . . . hmmmm? AND I WAS indeed First Trumpet in my school orchestra. We not only played in concerts, we did a Campbels Soup commercial, played for the Pope, and, unfortunately were punished for being drunk at a boat trip and the orchestra leader turned down a chance to play at Yankee Stadium.  Truth is always stranger than fiction.

Well HF-  Ill be damned !!   You played the trumpet??  WOW !  thats awesome !  So you were in a commercial?  Did u actually appear in it, or was your music just in it ?  ( however-  I do think that EVERYONE else did understand MY meaning of "your first concert"  to be a concert that they attended-  and listened to OTHER PEOPLE'S music )  But your answer is cool too  Cool  You never cease to surprise me HF !!  You are a man of many talents.
