Synopsis: Kate (Vera Farmiga) and John (Peter Sarsgaard) are trying to come to terms with the tragic loss of their unborn child. They decide to adopt a little girl named Esther (Isabelle Fuhrman). Then things start to go wrong. Really wrong. Accidental-death-that-may-not-have-been-an-accident wrong.
Kate is convinced that Esther is the cause of their troubles, and that the tyke may not be at all what she seems. She tries to convince John, but she may be too late. Which begs the question – hasn’t John seen The Bad Seed, The Omen or Joshua? He should have – Kate was abused by a demonic child in Joshua too.
