Fourteen wolves have been sent home with their tails between their legs. Left standing (on four legs or two) are a Trick 'r Treater and an American Werewolf with a passport. Results from the last round plus the final vote after the jump.
Third round action delivered an unexpected yet overwhelming defeat to the seemingly unstoppable Twilight juggernaut. Strong support from Anna Paquin's fans gave underdog wolf Laurie a huge 81%-19% victory over New Moon heartthrob Jacob Black.
In our other contest, perennial fan favorite An American Werewolf in London's David Kessler (played by David Naughton) triumphed over plucky newcomer Captain Ryan from Dog Soldiers, 75%-25%.
Who will you vote as leader of the pack?
CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND: DAVID KESSLER vs. LAURIE
David Kessler (An American Werewolf in London 1981): Overheated and lovestruck as a mortal, David Kessler succumbs to his animal instincts as a werewolf, soon finding that he's an exceptional killer - even if the discovery comes at the cost of his clothes, and his best friend. Unlike other lupine competitors, however, David has the advantage of familiarity with modern-day society, having not only squared off against the police, but a double-decker bus, the fleeing denizens of Trafalgar Square, and perhaps most terrifyingly, the audience of a peep-show theater. Best moment: David makes mincemeat of six people in a single night, but it's his pursuit of an unlucky tube passenger that proves most terrifying.
Laurie (Trick 'r Treat, 2008): Although all of the ladies of Trick 'r Treat come on like victims of big, bad monsters, don't let Laurie's tenderness fool you: she'll stop at nothing, including fulfilling a few victimization fantasies, to fulfill the demands of her werewolf rituals. Laurie transforms in quite possibly the most horrifying way possible to watch - literally shedding the skin of her human self in order to let her fur fly. Her prey of choice is a prospective suitor or two, in which case if she goes all Sadie Hawkins and asks you out first, beware - she may expect you to put out, so to speak. Best moment: In one of the better about-faces in werewolf-film history, a would-be predator disguised as a vampire finds out that Laurie is more than capable of biting back.
Remember, you have until Friday morning to vote. Check back then to see who we crown as FEARnet's top dog wolf, just in time for the release of Universal's The Wolfman.
