Remember the cool instrumental Transylvania by Iron Maiden, from their very first album? Well, that song's about to take on a whole new meaning later this year, when the iconic UK metallers head for the Romanian region of the same name to play a live set for the first time ever in the land that inspired it. Find out more about the show – and how you can get tickets – after the jump!

Written by Maiden co-founder and bassist Steve Harris before the band was even formed, Transylvania first appeared on their self-titled debut record – which also happens to be celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. The band is marking the occasion with a massive world tour, serving also to promote the release of their new album The Final Frontier, slated for release later this summer.

According to the band's official news page, the Transylvania show is slated to take place at the Polus Center Mall in the Romanian city of Cluj on August 15th, and the tickets go on sale on May 24th through the promoter's website, so be sure to check it out pronto... if you've been saving up for that one special overseas trip, this might be the time to cash out.
