There are other films at Comic-Con besides Hollywood blockbusters. Shocking, I know. Throughout the weekend, Comic-Con will hold their own film festival, showcasing short indie films, sorted by genre. In addition, there will be panels specifically geared towards independent filmmakers: inside Amazon studios, multi-platforms, post-production and more. There will also be a four-part Comic-Con film school crash course, which focuses on the nuts n' bolts of microbudget projects.
The horror films will screen Friday evening. All are short films, and all will include a panel with the filmmakers. Check out what to expect:
Clemency
A sadistic killer on Death Row is granted clemency, and an interview with the criminal yields something shocking.
Clemency from Dodge College on Vimeo.
Recollection
A man wakes up to find himself in a freshly dug grave, no memory of how he got there, and no clue why there is a man intent on killing him.
Last Seen on Dolores Street
Described as a noir-inspired genre-bender, a woman says goodbye to an old pet and hello to a new nightmare.
Write of Passage
The horrors of writer's block.
Help Wanted
College grads are often desperate for work when they have that diploma in hand. But what about if your potential employer houses a warehouse of dead hookers?
Antidote for a Murder
When a detective is poisoned by a booby-trapped package, he has 48 hours to solve his own murder.
