It feels like our own Scott Weinberg just reviewed Paranormal Activity at Slamdance last week, but already the micro-budgeted, Oren Peli haunted-house project is making trade headlines! According to Variety.com DreamWorks has just acquired all domestic and remake rights to the film. Though Paranormal Activity will likely be a direct-to-DVD title in the States, IM Global picked up international rights and is set to be on the upcoming Berlin slate. Another horror pickup at Slamdance (by Neo Classic Films) was the teen horror pic Crooked Lake, winner of the Kodak Vision Award for best cinematography. Can’t wait to see those teens mutilated in critically acclaimed color!
