Abraxas' Debut EP Comes Into 'Existence'

Death metal fans are heralding the arrival of bone-crunching old school death trio Abraxas, and now there’s even more cause for horrific celebration with the band’s announcement that their four-track promo CD Wretched Existence is about to be officially unleashed on the world. Hit the jump to find out more about the band and the EP...

Abraxas was formed this spring by bassist/guitarist Makoto "Mak" Mizoguchi (formerly of Hate Eternal), with drummer Lance Wright (Temple of Blood) and vocalist Mike Hrubovcak (Monstrosity, Vile). The group recently signed to Relapse Records, who will be releasing Wretched Existence on December 15th. The EP features depraved horror artwork by Drew Elliott – an artist whose evil visual cred was well-established by his past work with gore-metal icons Necrophagia and chart-topping Finnish metallers Amorphis.

The band is planning to begin work on a full-length album this fall... but in the meantime, you can stream three of the tracks from the upcoming EP right now, on the band’s official MySpace. Strap on a helmet and dive in!
