You won’t find too many acts out there more perfectly suited to Halloween than shock-rock idol Alice Cooper, so it’s actually surprising we haven’t seen something like this sooner: The Coop has completed work on a special Halloween single for his fans, entitled Keepin’ Halloween Alive. In the official announcement, he shared some encouraging words about embracing the Halloween spirit year 'round… but you already do that, don’t you? Read on to find out what the ultimate rock villain has in store for you this season!
In the midst of his gigantic Theatre of Death tour, Alice took some time to put together this little Halloween treat, which he co-wrote with Rob Zombie’s bassist Piggy D. He also enlisted the skills of Powerman 5000’s Dave Pino on guitars, and The Bravery’s David Spreng on drums. The track will be digitally distributed by Shout! Factory and includes both the single version and a bonus 'Cooperoke' cut for those daring enough to sing along karaoke-style at their next Halloween party.
In the press release, Alice made a point of confirming what we already know: that every day is October 31st at the Cooper homestead. "At home my family all gathers around an old spooky tree decorated with skulls and bones in the living room, and we exchange gifts," he explained. "It's our holiday. We even all have matching black-and-orange Halloween sweaters...I wanted a theme song for people like me, and for us Halloween never ends." Amen, brother!
