Australian electro-industrial duo Angelspit have just posted details of their upcoming CD Hideous and Perfect, which is scheduled for release on September 9th. The band’s sexy cyber-horror style – with a visual angle leaning heavily toward fetish fashion – will explore even darker audiovisual realms in their fifth studio album, which they have declared “Angelspit's darkest release to date.” Click to the other side for the whole scoop, and be sure to watch the album teaser!
According to band members Destroyx (aka Amelia Tan) and ZooG (Karl Learmont), the new material benefits from a DIY approach, with most of the percussion derived from homemade instruments (both acoustic and electronic), in an effort to return to “the experimental roots of industrial music,” in the tradition of seminal bands Throbbing Gristle and Einstürzende Neubaten.
The US release version of Hideous and Perfect is now available for pre-order through Metropolis Records, with alternate versions coming out in Japan through Darkest Labyrinth and in Europe and Australia via Surgeon-x (including a limited autographed edition through www.surgeon-x.com). More info is coming soon, but in the meantime, viddy the slick promo teaser below and get a tempting taste of those dark delights…
