Big Talk, the popular solo project of Rob Vannucci Jr. – drummer for world-famous alt-rockers The Killers – released their self-titled debut album this summer and now the new single "Big Eye" has a dark, surreal and sensual video to accompany the song's hauntingly seductive vibe, and it made its premiere on UK music site NME this week. Hit the jump and find out what the astonished dude in the picture above is staring at... and we think you'll be staring too!
The keyboard-driven pop rock unit was formed last year by Vannucci and guitarist Taylor Milne, and Rob also co-produced the debut album with Joe Chicarelli (The Strokes, My Morning Jacket) and recruited Alan Moulder (Nine Inch Nails, Foo Fighters) for the mixing duties. "Big Eye" was directed by Robert Schober, alias "Roboshobo" – whose amazing visual work, often filled with nightmarish and surreal imagery, has accompanied songs like Metallica's zombie epic "All Nightmare Long" and Mastodon's wild backwoods horror short "Curl of the Burl," which we screened for you last month.
"'Big Eye' was a unique situation for me because it was the first time the idea came before the song," Schober told the magazine. "I had this story and I could see it, but there was no music... Ronnie told me he had the perfect song for it."
