Check Out the Giallo Tribute in Keane's 'Disconnected' Video

I may be the last person in the world to discover this music video, but I'm willing to bet that at least a few of you haven't. After all, sometimes horror in mainstream music is the hardest to see, since it's hiding out in plain sight... Keane has demonstrated their fondness for the macabre before, in the stop-motion animated music video for their single "Bedshaped". But the English rockers are taking things a step further with one of their most recent videos, for "Disconnected." I won't spoil things before you watch it below, except to say that if you're a giallo fan you're going to love it.

Oh yes! I love most everything about "Disconnected", from the fake VHS piracy warning with which it begins to its opening credits to the lighting to the grindhouse-style film scratches to the illustrated end credits. And its heroine looks like she just stepped out of a '70s Argento thriller. "Disconnected" is the second single off Keane's new album Strangeland. If you're wondering why it looks so authentic, it was apparently filmed in a haunted house in Barcelona, and co-directed by Spanish filmmakers Juan Antonio Bayona and Sergio G Sanchez -- who worked together on The Orphanage.
