The success of Grimm seems to have aroused NBC's bloodlust. In addition to a second season of Grimm and series orders for Mockingbird Lane and Hannibal, the network has just put in an order for a 10-part Dracula miniseries.
Jonathan Rhys Meyers (The Tudors, Velvet Goldmine) stars as the eponymous vampire in a series that will be a US/UK co-production. According to Deadline.com, "Dracula arrives in London, posing as an American entrepreneur who maintains that he wants to bring modern science to Victorian society. In reality, he hopes to wreak revenge on the people who ruined his life centuries earlier but falls hopelessly in love with a woman who seems to be a reincarnation of his dead wife."
No airdate has been set, but my guess would be that Dracula won't see the light of day until the 2013-2014 TV season.
