Each new project from extreme horror metal unit Dawn of Ashes is an experiment in shock, dread and depravity, which is why I'm always thrilled to discover what they've summoned up next. So when the band's founder & frontman Kristof Bathory approached me directly about unleashing their latest music video on FEARnet, I jumped at the opportunity... and now the moment has come to draw back the curtain on their most twisted creation ever.
To put it in perspective, the official video for “Transformation Within Fictional Mutation” from their 2010 album Genocide Chapters featured gallons of blood and gooey tentacle Hentai monstrosities courtesy of Robert Kurtzman's Creature Corps, while the promo for their follow-up EP Farewell to the Flesh had the look of a hotel-room snuff film. Their latest unholy creation comes from this year's EP Hollywood Made in Gehenna, which chronicles the band's misadventures in the dark, sticky underbelly of Tinseltown, filtered through their own twisted and horrific worldview. Directed by Chris Trueman, the video is a virtual feast of unnatural practices, so it's not for everyone... but it's definitely the band's kinkiest visual nightmare to date, and right now FEARnet is the only place you can experience it.
