If you're a horror movie fan, every day is Halloween. But how does the other half do up the spookiest day of the year? Here are 10 Halloween episodes of otherwise not-so-scary TV shows.
It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown
This classic Peanuts cartoon has been a Halloween mainstay for over 30 years – for good reason. If you've never seen it, what are you waiting for? Despite constant mockery, Linus skips trick-or-treating in favor of waiting for the Great Pumpkin to appear. Don't be a blockhead, watch it here.
Beverly Hills, 90210: "Halloween"
The original 90210's Halloween consisted of Steve as Zorro, Donna as a mermaid, Brenda and Dylan as Bonnie and Clyde, and Kelly as a very sexy witch – a costume that gets her into trouble. Reunite with the kids you loved to hate in high school here.
The Addams Family: "Halloween, Addams Style"
Every day is Halloween for the first family of creep, but Halloween takes a scary turn when a neighbor tells a trick-or-treating Wednesday that witches aren't real. Watch an ooky episode of the classic series here.
Friends: "The One With the Halloween Party"
Monica and Chandler throw a costume party, and as you would expect, the costumes create havoc. Monica is convinced that, as Catwoman, she could beat up Phoebe's Supergirl. Joey goes as Chandler; Rachel is going as Rachel. Chandler leaves his costume to Monica, and she chooses a pink bunny suit. And Ross, thinking that he is being clever, goes as Spudnik – or, as Chandler calls him, "a big doodie." Check out a very special episode here.
The Simpsons: "Treehouse of Horror III"
It was tough to pick just one "Treehouse of Horror," as they are all pretty awesome (though recent installments have been less and less scary), but the third one is great. Segment one features a Kursed Krusty doll who goes on a killing spree. Segment two is a King Kong homage, with Homer as the ape and Marge in the Fay Wray role. In the third, Bart dabbles in the black arts and turns the residents of Springfield into zombies. Laugh your ass off at Homer and company here.
South Park: "Pinkeye"
Kenny dies, but when he is accidentally embalmed with Worcestershire sauce, he turns into a brain-eating zombie… with pink eye. Get infected here.
Roseanne: "Halloween V"
Roseanne has always gone all-out for Halloween episodes, but this one is one of the best. Lots of pranks, lots of fake blood, and lots of over-the-top costumes. Check it out here.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer: "Halloween"
Havoc breaks out in Sunnydale when cursed costumes from a local shop turn the wearer into their costume. Buffy – dressed as a fair Southern belle – turns into a helpless girl, while Xander becomes Rambo and Willow turns into a slutty punker. Watch one of the best Halloween episodes of all time here.
The Office: "Halloween"
What's scarier on Halloween than being fired? Maybe the papier mache conjoined twin Michael Scott has attached to his shoulder. Or the fact that Pam totally ruined Angela's Halloween office party. Catch up with the gang at Dunder-Mifflin here.
How I Met Your Mother: "The Slutty Pumpkin"
Barney desperately tries to get Ted to go with him to the Victoria's Secret Halloween party, but Ted would rather wait for the Slutty Pumpkin. Watch a clip here.
