Genetics professor Brian Sykes of Oxford University has come forward with what he claims to be conclusive evidence for the true origins of the Yeti (or Abominable Snowman), the legendary monster of the Himalayas... and his discovery is not at all what you might think: Sykes recently told the BBC that the elusive monster may actually be an unknown species of polar bear.

DNA testing was conducted on mysterious hair samples taken from two separate locations where Yeti sightings had been reported – and the results suggest that the creature could actually be a cross-breed of brown bear and polar bear. Sykes compared the DNA with that of an ancient polar bear jawbone found in Norway, and came up with a 100% match.
Sykes reveals his findings on The Bigfoot Files, which airs on the UK's Channel 4.
