Southern-fried horror rock group Ghoultown is building a bigger and better following in the wake of their new album, and now they’re sure to snag even more attention with the release of their new video – a loving tribute to iconic horror hostess Elvira, directed by none other than macabre artist Gris Grimly. Hit that jump and get a good look at those… I mean, at this rockin’ homage to our favorite voluptuous vamp!
Elvira (aka Cassandra Peterson) herself, along with her trademark beehive, vacu-formed black dress, custom T-Bird “Macabre Mobile” and other assets (if you know what I mean, and I think you do), stars in Ghoultown’s Mistress of the Dark, which details a day in the life of the former Movie Macabre hostess and pop-culture icon. Still totally hot in her late fifties, Peterson reclines on her red velvet lounge to watch the band perform the song on a Hee Haw-type TV variety show.
Mistress of the Dark follows the band’s acclaimed new album Life After Sundown, and it’s another great example of their fat ‘n’ raunchy style, delivered with sonic muscle and excellent facial hair… and features awesome lines like "What I wouldn’t give for one night to climb those haunted hills." Lead vocalist Count Lyle eventually springs forth from Elvira’s TV to take the curvaceous cutie in hand and… well, I won’t spoil it for you, ‘cuz the clip’s right here for you to viddy for yourself.
Unpleasant dreams, kids!
