Heaven and Hell's DEVIL Details... Hell Yeah!

We told you not so long ago this was probably gonna be awesome, and it's looking more and more like we were right... Black Sabbath veterans Ronnie James Dio, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Vinny Appice – aka Heaven and Hell – have opened the black gates to reveal tons of goodies from their upcoming new album The Devil You Know, including cover art more evil than your mom. Click on, rock brethren, more news below...

After returning to Rockfield Studios in Wales (where this Dio-led incarnation of Sabbath had last recorded Dehumanizer way back in '92), the team labored quickly and intensely last year (it reportedly took only a few weeks to lay down the finished tracks) on the 10-song album, which is poised for release on April 28th.

The songs were recorded spontaneously and live in the studio, with a minimum number of takes – a technique which the band claims helped them keep their edge. "We've learned from the past that you can kill a song doing it over and over,” Butler reports at Blabbermouth.net. “The first Sabbath albums were done in two or three days... technically they weren't great, but vibe-wise they were great. If you capture that feeling, that's all you need."

First single “Bible Black” was also one of the first songs written from these sessions, and sets the stage immediately with a sardonic tale of warped dogma that, according to Dio, perfectly captures the overall mood. "When you start off with a blockbuster like that, it makes the rest of the album so much easier because it gives you a benchmark to measure the other songs against.”

The other nine songs are equally epic, with super-cool titles like “Eating the Cannibals,” “Atom and Evil,” “Double the Pain” and “Neverwhere.” Rest assured you will be hearing all about all of these very soon... oh yes...
