HIM Announce New Album for 2010

Can’t go a week without some groovy news from Finland, can we? This latest item is sure to have lovely goth girls swooning in anticipation and thousands of black-clad teens re-inking their heartagram tattoos: “Love Metal” heartthrob Ville Valo and his chartbusting band HIM have laid out the plans for their next album, which should be coming out early next year. The band revealed some of their nefarious plans on their official site and we’ve got a few more details below the fold!

Screamworks: Love in Theory and Practice is the current working title of the band’s seventh studio album, and the band will be entering the studio this August to begin recording with American power-pop producer Matt Squire – who has previously worked with high profile alt-rock bands like Taking Back Sunday, The Used, and Panic! at the Disco.

The band has tentatively set the album’s release for Valentine’s Day 2010, which is not surprising given their famously tragic-romantic outlook, but that date’s not completely locked in yet. We’ll keep you posted as more info comes our way…
