This evening, Deadline and Hollywood Reporter both posted articles saying that Bryan Fuller's The Munsters reboot, Mockingbird Lane, is "all but dead." The project has been in development for NBC, and has a stellar cast that includes Eddie Izzard, Jerry O'Connell, and Portia de Rossi. Both news sites reported that NBC was giving up on the project.
Both news sites were wrong.
I was devestated to hear that the project would be gone, so I emailed Bryan Fuller directly, having met the man at Comic-Con this year. Direct from Fuller, not filtered through studio execs or publicists, he had this to say:
"Just spoke to the President of Entertainment at NBC and she assured me the Deadline article was false."
So there you have it folks - you heard it here first. Mockingbird Lane is not dead at NBC.
