Recently we posted an incredibly freaky horror music video for "First of the Year," a killer track from superstar dubstep producer Skrillex (we command you to check out the clip ASAP... just follow this link), and lately that mad genius has been glitching it up all over the music landscape. If you're a fan of metal drop-tune demons KoRn, you've probably already heard their wild experimental collaboration with Skrillex in the first single "Get Up!" That track is the first creation to emerge out of a new sonic experiment entitled The Path of Totality, and now the official music video is up and running, so you can trip on that clip after the jump!
The most experimental record in the band's history, The Path of Totality is the result of collaboration between KoRn and some of the world's foremost electro artists, producers and DJs. In addition to Skrillex (aka Sonny Moore), other tracks include team-ups with Excision, Datsik, Noisia, Kill the Noise, and 12th Planet. According to band frontman Jonathan Davis, the project was the result of a cosmic-scale alignment: "The Path of Totality refers to the fact that in order to see the sun in a full solar eclipse, you must be in the exact right place in the exact right time," he explains. "That's how this album came together. I think all the producers feel the same way. I'm not sure it could ever happen again."
"Get Up!" first blew away fans at the Coachella festival this spring when KoRn made an unannounced appearance during Skrillex's set, and the song has been building a huge following since then. Over the coming months, the band continued to collaborate with other producers on tracks like "Narcissistic Cannibal," "Kill Mercy Within" and "Chaos Lives in Everything."
The Path of Totality is slated to drop on December 6th... but right now check out the wicked performance video for "Get Up!"
