Lou Reed & Metallica Post Creepy Teaser for 'Lulu'

A strange new collaboration between legendary rocker Lou Reed and metal titans Metallica has raised quite a few eyebrows (and a couple of middle fingers) in the music world over the past few months, especially among Metallica's hardcore fans. As the release of the team's album Lulu draws closer, more intriguing hints about the project have been oozing across the interzone, and the latest revelation is a spooky, blood-spattered album trailer. Lulu is the end result of Reed and Metallica bonding at the 2009 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 25th anniversary concert (where both performed), after which they made a spur-of-the-moment decision to work on an album together. The talented team gave the world a first taste of that project when the strange, freestyle single "The View" was released online late last month, and Metallica's fans were... well, let's say they weren't too impressed. But with ominous titles like "Pumping Blood" and "Mistress Dread," and unsettling promotional art (featuring a dismembered mannequin) that reportedly got banned from UK subways, there just might be some dark magic to be found among these ten songs.

The 2-CD album is scheduled for worldwide release on Halloween (but one day later in the US). In the meantime, you can get a feel for it by playing the teaser below...
