Bay Area metal monsters Machine Head have launched one of their creepiest videos just in time for Halloween: "Locust," the first single from their seventh studio album Unto the Locust, gets the apocalyptic treatment in the new clip – complete with giant winged animatronic insects, CGI swarms, splashes of blood and mass destruction... all set to seismic blasts of epic thrash. Watch the clip on the flip!

Unto the Locust, which was released on September 27th, has been picking up the same kind of props the thrash quartet received back in 2007 for their previous album The Blackening – not to mention their best opening week chart position in the band's history (#22 on Billboard's Top 200). Starting tomorrow, they'll be playing the new songs on their "Eighth Plague" tour along with support from DevilDriver, Bring Me the Horizon and Darkest Hour.

The ambitious video for "Locust" was directed by Mike Sloat, who has helmed several of the band's promos. Sloat based the look of the video around the album's creepy cover art, designed by Paul Gerrard. The clip recently made its video premiere courtesy of Pitchfork TV, but you can also watch it right here!
