Midnight Syndicate Debut 'Lost' Video

Known worldwide as one of the leading names in Halloween horror music, the multimedia duo Midnight Syndicate decided to set aside their traditionally gothic visual presentation and take a whole new approach with their single Lost. The result is an unsettling mini-epic that may literally get under your skin... so hit the jump and give it a spin!

This darkwave-flavored track was first introduced in the Syndicate's 2009 release Cemetery Gates, which itself is a kind of thematic preview of their first feature film The Dead Matter. It's also part of that film's original soundtrack, and is a pretty unique outing for the band, as it features a lead vocalist – a fairly rare appearance in the team's mainly instrumental body of work. (Speaking of which, you'll be hearing even more vocal contributions when they roll out a special six-song EP next week, featuring lyrics and vocals by Destini Beard. More on that very soon...)

Produced by Cleveland-based 529 Films (whose credits include horror features Bigfoot and Hellementary) and directed by Andrew Smoley, the video for Lost takes on “a supernatural theme with a decidedly Syndicate twist,” according to group founder Edward Douglas. Shot in various Cleveland locations (including historic Chardon Square), the clip stars Dead Matter actress Donna Williams as one of countless unwary citizens who fall victim to a creepy spectral influence that strikes when they least expect it.

The video will be included as a bonus feature on the Dead Matter DVD, which is set for release on July 30th. But don't wait... watch it here and now!
