My Bloody Valentine 3-D Box Office Estimates In!

UPDATE: Whether the film lived up to haute anticipation or not, it looks like the My Bloody Valentine 3D opening weekend predictions have prevailed! Expected to reel in about $20 million, the film, starring Jaime King, Kerr Smith and Jensen Ackles, brought in $21.9 million and landed the #3 spot at the box office. That's the second consecutive week that a brand new horror title took the #3 spot and brought in over $20 mil! So did you make it out to the theaters for this 1981 slasher remake and/or last week's killer-fetus flick, The Unborn? I'll tell you one thing, our choice involved 3D glasses and a ton of flying gore chunks. Tell us about your choice after the jump...

Looks like tough economic times are not affecting the box office this weekend and My Bloody Valentine 3-D is right on top (I'm not even going to acknowledge you Paul Blart Mall Cop). Friday's estimates have the flick coming in strong at #3 with an estimated
$8,250,000! This puts MBV 3-D on track to secure more than 20 million opening weekend, which is none too shabby. That being said, I just got back from the theater myself and I have to say, color me impressed. Without a doubt, My Bloody Valentine 3-D has rejuvenated and reinvented the flaccid slasher genre and brought back the fun. Listen up Friday the 13th remake; you've got a lot to live up to now! MBV 3-D is a solid flick, support it and keep horror strong!
