New ‘Citadel’ Poster and Official Trailer Will Give You the Creeps

They see your fear.

The official trailer for Cinedigm & Flatiron Films’ Citadel is out now. Winner of the Midnighter Audience Award at the 2012 SXSW Citadel tells the story of Tommy Crowley, a man who is left to raise his baby alone after his wife is killed by a gang of thugs. Crowley is so traumatized by the experience he develops agoraphobia and refuses to leave his tower block. But the hooded gang continues to stalk him and the only person who can help him is a priest with unusual methods.

Director Ciarán Foy creates a bleak tale of urban alienation and supernatural horror. Foy certainly knows how to create a creepy, deserted cityscape filled with malicious hooded figures. There's something about the washed out, paranoid quality of the trailer that's reminiscent of  both The Omen and Jacob's Ladder. Watch the official trailer below.

Citadel hits theaters on October 19th.
