This just in from Blabbermouth.net: California metal band DevilDriver have announced details of their upcoming fourth album, to be titled Pray for Villains. The new release, tentatively scheduled for this summer from Roadrunner Records, is currently being recorded at L.A.'s Edge of the Earth Studios under the guidance of producer Logan Mader (guitarist for Machine Head and Soulfly).
“Things are going great,” declares band frontman Dez Fafara, who has laid down vocals on five tracks so far, with final touches also being added by guitarists Mike Spreitzer and Jeff Kendrick. “We are recording 15 tracks and we've stepped it up big time for this one.
“It is downright f**king nasty,” bassist Jon Miller reports on the band's blog. “The best shit we have ever done... we are pulling some moves that we have never pulled before on a record. DevilDriver has gone to a place where we needed to go on this one.”
Villains definitely has big bootprints to fill after the band's successful 2007 release The Last Kind Words, which debuted at #48 on Billboard's New Album charts and sold nearly 70,000 copies in the US alone.
