The NIN/JA Tour Site is Live!

Trent Reznor announced last night via Twitter that the official site for the 2009 Nine Inch Nails/Jane’s Addiction tour (aka NIN/JA) would go live this morning, and at roughly 9AM Pacific Time he made good on his word. Get more details after the jump!

The new site touts a “NIN/JA 2009 Sampler” – a free downloadable EP containing 6 exclusive tracks representing two songs apiece from all the touring acts – including Street Sweeper, the newly-minted project from Rage Against the Machine’s Tom Morello and political rapper Boots Riley. The link allows free access to MP3, FLAC and lossless WAV & AIFF files, so you can pick your favorite format. You can also stream several other songs via the embedded player, access media on all the bands and look up tour dates as they post.

Touted by Reznor as the final NIN tour – at least for the foreseeable future, since he has said that the band will go on hiatus for an undefined period – the team-up is historic for many reasons, including the fact that Jane’s founder Perry Farrell was partly responsible for the Nails’ first big crowd-pleasing festival appearance, courtesy of Farrell’s legendary Lollapalooza back in ‘91.
