PETER BLOCK NAMED PRESIDENT AND GENERAL MANAGER OF FEARNET

Channel's Linear High Definition Launch Set For October 1

Los Angeles, CA (August 10, 2010)--Peter Block, one of the most influential forces in the world of Hollywood horror, has been named president and general manager of FEARnet,  the world's premier multi-platform destination for horror, thriller and suspense, it was announced today by partners Sony Pictures Television (SPT: US), Lionsgate (NYSE: LGF) and Comcast (NASDAQ: CMCSA).

"With his varied experience, both as an executive and as a producer on some of the most successful films in the genre, Peter knows how to thrill an audience and is a perfect fit for FEARnet," said Andy Kaplan, president, networks for Sony Pictures Television.  "Having been part of FEARnet from the very beginning, he's in a great position to take the channel to the next level."

"I'm delighted to be working with these three great partners," said Block.  "Having had the chance to produce and discover these types of films in the past, and now deliver them to a hungry and growing audience, makes this an exciting time for the channel and for me.  FEARnet is already a great brand, and I want our viewers to look to us as the cutting edge of the genre in every sense of the word as we expand our audience and launch our linear channel in the fall."

Diane Robina, who served as president since the launch of the VOD service and website, will continue at FEARnet into the fall before turning her attention full time to her role as executive vice president, programming, production and marketing for TV Guide Network.

"Peter has helped create and nurture many of the leading thriller brands in the industry today, including our "Saw" franchise," said Lionsgate Co-Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Jon Feltheimer.  "He has enormous creativity, and his appointment is a signal to the creative community that FEARnet intends to be dominant in the horror/suspense space.  Diane has gotten FEARnet off to a great start, and we are very excited that she is passing the torch to a visionary like Peter as she turns her programming expertise to the continued growth of TV Guide Network."

Under his "A Bigger Boat" banner, Block is currently in post-production on Lionsgate/Twisted Pictures' "Saw VII 3-D" and on John Carpenter's feature "The Ward," both out this fall. "FROZEN", The company's first production with partners at Greenestreet Films, was a selection of the Sundance Film Festival and released earlier this year.  A Bigger Boat will continue operating as an independent production shingle.

Block's film career includes the launch and stewardship of the enormously popular "Saw" franchise, the most successful long running horror franchise in history, which has grossed more than $600 million in worldwide box office, as well as such other acclaimed Lionsgate horror and suspense hits as "Daybreakers," "Hostel," "Cabin Fever," "Open Water," "House of 1000 Corpses", ["HARD CANDY"] and "The Devil's Rejects" along with the NBC television series "Fear Itself."  Block served as president of acquisitions and co-productions for Lionsgate, shepherding the acquisition of rights to more than 500 films, and he previously oversaw the Company's home entertainment efforts, including PPV, VOD and pay television as well as the Company's web ventures.  Before joining Lionsgate, Block was executive vice president of acquisitions, distribution and new media for Trimark Pictures.

In June, the cutting-edge, multi-platform movie destination, currently available on demand, online and on mobile 24/7, announced that it will expand its reach, making its unrivaled modern horror library available in high-definition via multi-channel video programming distributors on October 1st.

Averaging approximately 12MM views per month on VOD, FEARnet is currently available in more than 28 million homes on Comcast, Cox Communications, Verizon FiOS and AT&T U-Verse, Insight Communications, Bresnan and Guadalupe Valley Systems.  Already the #2 free HD VOD Movie Network, FEARnet is ranked in the top 10 amongst all Comcast VOD Networks and within the top 20 Comcast HD Networks.  Online, www.fearnet.com is the web's #1 site for genre movie viewing, where users can explore the world of the macabre on a visually arresting video-rich environment packed with movies, interactive community features and fresh original content.  From Sony Pictures Television (SPT: US) and Lionsgate (NYSE: LGF), the two top studios producing and distributing the genre, and Comcast (NASDAQ: CMCSA) (NASDAQ: CMCSK), the nation's leading provider of cable, entertainment and communications products and services, FEARnet launched on October 31, 2006.
