Director David O. Russell has officially left Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.  Russell instead will start production on the dramedy Old St. Louis this spring.  More after the jump.

According to NYMag.com, Russell was signed on to do both films, but scheduling conflicts with Zombies star and executive producer Natalie Portman required him to choose.  Zombies is based on the hit novel by Seth Grahame-Smith.  So who would you pick to direct?

For the uninitiated, here's a little bit about the story: A mysterious plague has fallen upon the quiet English village of Meryton and the dead are returning to life! Feisty heroine Elizabeth Bennet is determined to wipe out the zombie menace, but she's soon distracted by the arrival of the haughty and arrogant Mr. Darcy. What ensues is a delightful comedy of manners with plenty of civilized sparring between the two young lovers and even more violent sparring on the blood-soaked battlefield as Elizabeth wages war against hordes of flesh-eating undead.
