Lisa Blount was found dead Wednesday morning at her home in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was 53. The coroner said she had likely been dead since Monday. Foul play is not suspected, but a cause of death has not been publicly announced.
Blount is probably best known for her role in An Officer and a Gentleman, for which she was nominated for a Golden Globe, but she also had a significant number of genre roles to her name: Dead & Buried, What Waits Below, Prince of Darkness, Nightflyers, Needful Things, and Stalked to name a few. In the past decade, Blount also began producing. She and husband Ray McKinnon won an Oscar for their short, "The Accountant."
