Ready to MIXXX it up with Prong?

Ever-busy “Uncle Al” Jourgensen has been all over the news lately (which makes me happy, 'cuz I just love the old bugger), and this time the metal icon is drawing attention to one of the most venerable bands to record under his own label: 13th Planet Records just posted details on Power of the Damn Mixxxer, a follow-up companion album to Power of the Damager by metal legends Prong. Click through and learn more!

Scheduled for release on May 12, 'Mixxxer' is a veritable who's-who of extreme music, with Prong remixes produced by the likes of Pitchshifter, Anthrax, DJ? Acucrack, Dope, Revolting Cocks and Dillinger Escape Plan.

Prong frontman Tommy Victor is thrilled to give fans a fresh new take on the band's material. "We feel the [original] LP was overlooked and in some cases ignored,” he says. “But the added elements provided by the great remixers, producers, and deejays infused with all the tracks make Power Of The Damn Mixxxer an interesting yet enjoyable listening experience."

You can currently sample a couple of tracks, including “Looking for Them” – remixed by Dope's lead guitarist Virus – on the band's MySpace. [www.myspace.com/prong]
