Red Blood, Bare Breasts and a Crazed Elijah Wood in the 'Maniac' Red-Band Trailer

Former hobbit Elijah Wood puts those monstrously large peepers of his to chillingly good use in the latest trailer for director Franck Khalfoun's Alexandre Aja co-written remake of Bill Lustig's Maniac, which premieres at this month's Cannes Film Festival. Earlier this month, we saw the film's teaser trailer, and now a very explicit, very NSFW, expanded red-band version has arrived online. Check it out after the jump.

Thanks to our friends at Twitch for the above trailer. Here's the synopsis for Maniac: "Just when the streets seemed safe, a serial killer with a fetish for scalps is back and on the hunt."

"Frank is the withdrawn owner of a mannequin store, but his life changes when young artist Anna appears asking for his help with her new exhibition. As their friendship develops and Frank's obsession escalates, it becomes clear that she has unleashed a long-repressed compulsion to stalk and kill.
