'Resident Evil’s' Recipe for Brains

What’s the secret to making zombie chomping look real on screen? Use brains actors can actually eat. Resident Evil: Retribution’s makeup designer Paul Jones uses Jell-O fortified with glycerin and sorbitol.

“The stuff is great, because if it accidentally gets ingested, it’s essentially food,” Jones said to in a recent interview.  “You can actually bite into it and see it tear.” has the recipe used on the set of Resident Evil: Retribution. It’s fairly easy to whip up, so you and your friends can nibble on some cerebral cortex any time you get a hankering.

For those who are a total mess in the kitchen, Wired also created this nifty how-to video for baking brains.

No fuss, but plenty of muss.
