Actor Johnny Lewis was found dead today in Los Angeles, at age 28.
The circumstances surrounding his death are strange, to say the least. Police are saying that Lewis beat his 81-year-old landlady to death in the driveway of the home he rented. Neighbors tried to intervene, but Lewis slipped from the roof and died in the pursuit. Police believe that Lewis was under the influence of PCP or meth. He had a history of violent behavior, with arrests for burglary, assault, and battery on his record.
Lewis is best known for his role on Sons of Anarchy, but he also had a solid selection of genre films under his belt, including Alien vs. Predator - Reqium; Lovely Molly; and One Missed Call. Sons of Anarchy creater Kurt Sutter has said that, while the actor's passing was tragic, he was not surprised. "He lost his way," Sutter said on Twitter.
