Over the past few months we've been keeping you posted on all the excellent DVD & Blu-ray releases in Scream Factory's Fall 2013 slate, with some early glimpses of titles, artwork and extra features... but they've just made another big update to that lineup including several release dates, so we're gonna break it all down for you here (click the title links for preorder info where available).
On September 10th, Scream Factory will release the sequels Scanners II: The New Order and Scanners III: The Takeover in a Double Feature Two-Disc Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack (more details to come).
The Collector’s Edition Blu-ray/DVD of George Romero's classic Day of the Dead is now set to arrive on September 17. The new HD transfer comes with a ton of extras, including the following:
- New Documentary - World’s End: The Legacy of Day of the Dead
- Underground: A Look into the Day Of The Dead mines
- Audio Commentary with writer/director George A. Romero, Special Make-up Effects artist Tom Savini, Production Designer Cletus Anderson and actress Lori Cardille
- Audio Commentary with filmmaker Roger Avary
- Behind-The-Scenes Footage from Special Make-up Effects Creator Tom Savini’s archives
- Photo Galleries
- Theatrical Trailers
- TV Spots
As we mentioned earlier, the long-awaited Collector's Edition Blu-ray/DVD combo of John Carpenter's epic Prince of Darkness, is now slated for release on September 24th, with a load of new features including new director commentary and interviews with Carpenter and Alice Cooper, and more extras to be announced soon. Also on the same day, Psycho II and Psycho III will make their Blu-ray debuts in Collector's Edition combo packs.
On October 1st, Scream Factory will roll out the first-ever 3D Blu-ray release of the first three Amityville Horror films in a three-disc Collector's Edition set, with several new bonus features (details to come).
October 8th will see the amazing release of The Vincent Price Collection, including the Blu-ray movie premiere of Fall of the House Of Usher, The Haunted Palace, Masque of the Red Death, The Pit and the Pendulum, Witchfinder General and The Abominable Dr. Phibes. All the discs will feature extensive bonus content, including interviews with producer/director Roger Corman, audio commentaries, original theatrical trailers, still galleries and archival materials, and the set comes with a 24-page collector’s book.
But we're not done yet! On October 22nd, Scream Factory will also release Chiller Network’s anthology film Chilling Visions: 5 Senses of Fear, featuring short films by Nick Everhart, Miko Hughes, Emily Hagins, Eric England, Jesse Holland and Andy Mitton.
