These Abandoned 'Horror Labs' Are Stocked with Ghastly Animal Specimens

Although it closed its doors in 1990, the Anderlecht Veterinary School in Brussels, Belgium is still home to a gallery of medical monstrosities that could creep out even the maddest of mad scientists.

Anderlecht was once a large and busy educational facility, and today nearly all of its nineteen buildings have been renovated... except one, which houses what is appropriately nicknamed “The Horror Labs.”

The shelves, stockrooms and examining tables of this single building have landed it a reputation as one of the most nightmarish destinations for urban explorers. Not even Re-Animator's Herbert West would be able to suppress a shudder after gazing at the grisly contents of the formaldehyde-filled bottles lining the shelves.

Pickled mutant pigs; crudely sewn-together dog and cat carcasses; rabbit heads frozen in gelatinous pink goo; tiny brains bobbing in dark, syrupy fluids; rusting medical equipment of questionable function... this place has everything you need for a year's worth of intense, full-color nightmares.
