These Desert Domes May Hide Occult Rituals, Ghosts and More

Partially built in the late '70s as the site for a computer factory (which never materialized), these surreal abandoned domes in the remote desert town of Casa Grande, Arizona have a decidedly spooky aura about them.

That supernatural vibe has allegedly drawn the attention of visiting occult practitioners, who are rumored to have conducted rituals in the crumbling man-made caves, some of which are shaped like UFO-style saucers or caterpillar-like formations.

According to urban exploration site Atlas Obscura, locals claim covens of witches and satanic cults have held ceremonies inside the domes and within the tunnels beneath them, and others claim the domes are haunted. No evidence has been provided (other than some seriously spooky graffiti), but after examining these eerie structures you can easily imagine how those rumors got started.

Trevor Freeman, a writer for Weird US, cited other stories of strange, unexplained nocturnal sounds in the area, as well as uneasy vibrations and sensations reported by visitors, and a “shadowy figure” said to stalk the domes.

“The whole place definitely gives off some creepy vibes,” Freeman writes, “especially when visiting after dark.”
