The walking dead are hungry for hipster flesh, and they're sinking their teeth into the Big Apple once again for the seventh annual NYC Zombie Crawl! This year the shambling, brain-munching ghouls will be soothed by the music and comedy of goth culture superstar Voltaire, along with a huge roster of horror-centric performers.
The event is scheduled to begin at 3 PM on Sunday, June 2nd at Knitting Factory, at 361 Metropolitan Avenue in Brooklyn. The walk itself kicks off at 5:30 PM; prior to that, anyone willing to get zombified by the on-site makeup artists can get the treatment for a small fee. The zombies will roam down Bedford Ave to McCarron Park, then off to Public Assembly (70 North 6th Street) for the after party, where Voltaire will give a live performance.
Other event highlights include performances by Skeletal Life, Bikini Carwash, Xombie and Mark ToxicLife (Return to Nuke 'Em High), extreme performance art by DisGraCeLand Family Freakshow, a zombie burlesque show from Rigor Mortis Revue, a “Hot Zombie Contest,” and more.
