Deb is staying with Vogel while she is being treated for severe PTSD. Vogel takes Deb back to the container, to “take away the power it holds” and remind her that she is a good person, but she will always choose Dexter.

A patrolman finds Deb asleep in her car. She is drunk and her car isn’t as much parked as it is crashed into a parking meter. He has no choice but to take her to the station, but at least he keeps her out of the drunk tank.

Dr. Vogel gave expert testimony in one of Harry’s cases. He knew she specialized in child psychopaths, and was at his wit’s end with Dexter, so he went to her for help.

Six months have passed since last season. Things have gotten back to normal for Dexter. He is a soccer dad, he enjoys his work, and he still has time for his evening hobbies. Things with Deb, however, are not as peachy
