Wow! I just checked on the manga for BR! like over 15!!! at around 4 bucks a pop on Amazon.....i loved the first, haven't seen the 2nd but would like to read the manga.... are they cheaper anywhere?

I love the first BR, not so much the second. BR is one of the few movies to make me say WTF while watching it. I remember reading about it years ago in some magazine stating that it was banned in the U.S. That did it for me. I found a region free disc on ebay and have been a fan of Asian cinema ever since.

The first one was great. I haven't seen the second one because everybody told me not to bother. I can't believe they are making another remake. It probably is going to suck.

The second one isn't all that bad. It's not as great as the first one but it has it's moments. I'd say you should watch it and form your own opinion about it.
For the remake I only hope they do a better job than they have been doing. "The Ring", "The Grudge" "The Eye" to me they all sucked (the remakes I mean). Shutter didn't look very good either although I haven't seen it yet.
But with Battle Royale, the premise is pretty simple. I don't think they could mess it up too bad. But I have been wrong before. So I'm trying to be optomistic about it. I'd like to see what hollywood does with it.
