Does anyone know of some prime gorey (but with great back bone of a story) asian horror to see? I watch horror movies alot but never seem to get anywhere in finding asian horrors,

You guys are wrong in your critisism of Asian horror. America has copied their movies into Hollywood versions. That's why you think they suck.
"Audition" was horrifying. So was the original Asian version of the "Grudge" Ju-on. "The Eye" was another example. The US copies Asian foreign films all the time and people think it's an original. Not!
So they might be stuck on ghosts but I haven't seen an American movie about ghost yet that scared me as much as the Asian films did. "Audition" was terrifying because the main character was supposedly a normal person into violine playing and the shit she does to her victims is outrageous. That wasn't exacly a ghost movie. More of a psycho.
Where do you suppose we got our idea for the ghoul in "The Ring"? It was an Asian movie called "Ringu".
I looked up "Best Asian Horror Movies" and guess what came up as the number one site? A site to the new blockbuster "Incidious". Interesting.

I have seen the Asian originals for the Grudge and the EYE, SOS. Again, a Harionago. A messy woman with wet hair. I have yet to find an Asian ghost story that I find scary and, of course, their REMAKES, American or otherwise are not scary either. A wet woman creeping up on me and making the same noise I make when I wake up hung over just doesnt do it for me. Spanish movies from Spain are much moodier and creepier in atmosphere, problem with them is its all foreplay with no big "hit".
I think its just like when people ask "whats your favorite food", people pick Chinese or Italian or Mexican even though they are not of that nationality, its just what they prefer. I PREFER old school HAMMER STUDIOS style gothic, others prefer Asian. Its not NECESSARILY cause its better, its the different "taste" that you like.

I'm just gonna make a quick list of some of my favorites, I'm sure a few have been mentioned already, sorry for that. Also, some of these have been debated over being horror, they are in many ways in my opinion.

To name a few of the easier to find ones, if you want a more hard to find list just let me know, there are some real gems out there, but a lot of the really horrific ones are banned in all forms in the states.
